01Who carries the goods
Delivery is carried out by a courier or a freight forwarder appointed for the shipment. ELECT-I Global does not operate its own fleet and does not deliver goods itself.
We book the carrier, hand over the export documentation, and stay your single point of contact if a shipment stalls. The carrier's own terms govern how the goods are handled in transit.
02Lead times
Typical delivery is 15 to 30 days after dispatch. That range is what we normally see across the destinations we serve; it is an estimate, not a guaranteed date, and it does not include production time.
Dispatch happens after payment has cleared and, for a prepaid order, after the recipient has confirmed their delivery details through the claim link. A claim link left unopened holds the shipment: nothing moves until there is an address.
Air freight and express courier are faster and more expensive; sea freight is slower and cheaper. Where timing matters, say so in the quotation request and we will price the method that meets the date.
03Customs, duties and taxes
Prices exclude customs clearance and import duties at the destination. Unless a quotation explicitly states DDP, the recipient is the importer of record and is responsible for clearance, duties, import taxes and any local charges.
Duty and tax rates depend on the destination, the tariff classification and the declared value. We declare goods accurately; we cannot under-declare a value or mis-describe goods to reduce a duty bill, and we will refuse a request to do so.
Some destinations require a tax or identity number from the importer before goods can clear. That is why the claim page asks for one, and why a shipment can be held without it.
Goods held, inspected, seized or destroyed by a customs authority for reasons outside our control are not our responsibility. We will provide every document we hold to support your case with the authority.
04Trade terms we quote on
- EXW
- Ex Works. You collect from the supplier's premises and take on everything from that point.
- FCA
- Free Carrier. We hand the goods to a carrier you nominate, cleared for export.
- FOB
- Free On Board. We deliver the goods on board the vessel at the named port of shipment.
- CFR
- Cost and Freight. We pay carriage to the destination port. Insurance is yours.
- CIF
- Cost, Insurance and Freight. As CFR, with minimum-cover insurance to the destination port.
- DAP
- Delivered At Place. We deliver to the named destination. Import clearance and duties remain yours.
- DDP
- Delivered Duty Paid. We deliver cleared and duty paid. This is the only term where destination duties are included.
Every quotation names the term it is priced on. Comparing two quotations on different terms without adjusting for freight, insurance and duty is the fastest way to buy the more expensive one.
05Shipping methods
- Express courier — small, urgent and high-value consignments, door to door.
- Air freight — larger volumes on a short lead time, airport to airport or door to door.
- Sea freight — full container load or less than container load, port to port or door to door.
- Rail and road freight — where the corridor supports it and the transit time beats sea.
- Consolidated cargo — several orders combined into one shipment so freight is paid once.
Consolidated shipping is available on Merchant and Elite accounts. Orders are held until you release them, so a consolidation window trades a few days of waiting for a single freight charge.
06Delivery details
A shipment is only as good as the address on it. Give a full street address with a postal code, a phone number the carrier can actually reach, and the tax identifier the destination requires.
Where a delivery fails because the details given were wrong or incomplete, redelivery, storage, demurrage and return charges are payable by the buyer. Where goods are returned to origin for that reason, the return freight is charged before a refund is considered.
We do not collect a delivery address from a merchant who prepays an order for someone else. The recipient enters their own details on the claim page, and the merchant only ever sees the name, country and city.
07Tracking
Tracking is attached to the order as soon as the carrier issues it, and appears in your account. Elite accounts also receive it by webhook, so it can flow straight into your own systems.
Carrier tracking can go quiet for several days during international legs and customs clearance. A gap is normal; a gap plus a missed delivery estimate is worth writing to us about.
08On arrival
Check the consignment before you sign for it. Count the cartons against the packing list, look for crushing, water damage and broken seals, and have the carrier record any damage on the delivery note. That note is what a carrier claim depends on.
Any problem must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery. The returns and refunds policy sets out what qualifies and what evidence we need.
09What cannot be shipped
Prohibited and restricted goods are listed in the compliance policy. Dangerous goods — batteries above the carrier's threshold, aerosols, flammable liquids, magnets and pressurised items among them — must be declared before a booking is made, because they change the carrier, the packing and the paperwork.
Some destinations refuse whole categories, and some routes are closed by sanctions or conflict. Where we cannot ship legally and safely, we say so before taking payment.
