01Our position
Counterfeit goods and unauthorised replicas are prohibited on this platform. So is any listing that uses someone else's trademark, images, copy or design without the right to do so.
Suppliers warrant that they own or are licensed to use every mark, design and asset attached to the products they list. A distributor listing another company's brand must be able to produce an authorisation letter.
We do not adjudicate ownership. Where a genuine dispute over rights exists, we act to stop the harm continuing while it is resolved elsewhere, and we say what we have done to both sides.
02Grounds for a complaint
- Trademark infringement
- A listing bears your registered mark, or a mark confusingly similar to it, on goods you did not authorise.
- Counterfeiting
- Goods are presented as your product but were not made by you or under your licence.
- Copyright infringement
- Product photographs, drawings, manuals, packaging artwork or listing copy have been copied from you.
- Patent or design right
- A listed product embodies your patented invention or your registered design without a licence.
- Misuse of a brand name
- Your brand is used in a title, description or keyword to attract buyers to goods that are not yours.
- Passing off
- A listing presents goods in a way designed to make buyers believe they come from you.
03What a complaint must contain
So that we can act quickly, send all of the following in one message:
- Your name, the rights holder's name, and your authority to act if you are not the rights holder.
- Contact details we can reply to, including an email address.
- Identification of the right: the registration number and jurisdiction for a registered trademark, patent or design, or a description and proof of ownership for an unregistered right such as copyright.
- Identification of what you are complaining about: the listing URL, the ELECT-I SKU, or the order number.
- An explanation of why the listing infringes — which element, and how.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use complained of is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your complaint is accurate, and that you accept responsibility for it.
- Your signature, electronic or physical.
A complaint sent in bad faith, or used to attack a competitor's legitimate listing, is itself a breach of these policies and we will remove the complainant's access to this process.
04How we handle it
- We acknowledge a complete complaint, normally within two business days.
- We review it against the listing and the documentation the supplier holds.
- Where a complaint is clearly well founded, we disable the listing immediately and stop any order in progress against it.
- We tell the supplier what has been alleged and give them the chance to respond.
- We tell you what we did. We do not share the supplier's confidential business information with you, and we do not share your complaint's contact details more widely than the supplier needs to answer it.
05If your listing was removed
A supplier whose listing has been disabled can answer with evidence of the right to sell: a licence, an authorisation letter, a distribution agreement, proof of exhaustion of rights for genuine goods, or proof that their own registration predates the complaint.
Where the answer resolves the matter, the listing is restored and both sides are told. Where it does not, the listing stays disabled until the parties settle it or a court decides it.
06Repeat infringement
A supplier who is the subject of repeated, well-founded complaints has their listings removed and their account closed. A single confirmed case of counterfeiting ends the relationship immediately.
07Our own rights
The ELECT-I Global name, logo, site design, page copy, code and the compilation of the catalog are ours. You may not copy them, use them as a mark, present yourself as us, or use them in a way that implies an endorsement we have not given.
Automated collection of the catalog — scraping, bulk downloading or reproducing listings elsewhere — is not permitted. Merchants who need programmatic access have the API for that.
08Content you give us
Product data, images, specifications and brand assets you send us stay yours. You grant us the licence needed to display and process them so the platform can list, quote and fulfil, and you confirm you have the right to grant it.
Withdraw that licence and we remove the material, but records attached to orders already placed are kept for as long as the law requires.
Questions about this policy?
Write to us and a person will answer. If your question is about a specific order, include the order number.
Who you are contracting with
